Spring Farmers’ Market

Less than a year into our Philo Collective adventure, we decided to add baking to our collection of things we do. Starting off with French macarons, we had amazing reviews from family, friends and our brave first customers. Based on kind encouragements (and a dash of entrepreneurial gumption), we got excited about sharing these delightful treats with other people and decided to apply for a spot at the Kankakee Farmers’ Market.

Flash forward through a boatload of paperwork and lots of trial baking runs, we made our spring market debut on May 1. It was incredible! We received such kind feedback from people who stopped by to check out our salted caramel macarons, coconut macaroons, cranberry orange scones, chocolate chip oatmeal scones, double-chocolate espresso biscotti, lemon-almond biscotti, anise pizzelle and bottled pothos and philodendron plants (the inspiration for our name & brand).

Our market experience has been fantastic so far & we’re looking forward to an amazing run through the summer & fall!
